Usual Life…

I have a few images of Theo that I have not had time to post because of the maddening pace at work.  We will start with some images I took when Theo was coming with me to Hans’ soccer practices.  His team is comprised mainly of African refugees which fits in nicely with my area of interest.  So we played with the kids in the park while Hans was practicing.

theosomali-copy1I definitely feel that being a mother – having Theo – is the coolest thing I have ever done.  But having said that, to see him looking at a Somali refugee baby was incredible.  I wish I could take my child and Peter and Hans to East Africa.  I am dying to be with Peter at my friend Mike Kennedy’s camp in Kiwayu – Paradise on Earth.  My friend Ruth recently returned to Kenya and had a post that she was sitting under a frigging palm tree in Lamu and it brought me to tears, I miss it so much.  So I will manifest that trip.  Hopefully for my husband’s 40th birthday next year at Christmas, which is the best time to be there.

theoswing-copyTheo is a trooper and can adapt to whatever situation he is in.  I hope that by raising him to be a confident and independent child that he can feel secure wherever he roams.  I do think he will have the wanderlust that his mom had – or has, actually.

I think that trip sounds like a fine idea right now.
